Previous Events in the past at the School of the Soldier have included: • Civil War Bands: including the Becks Brass Band and the 3rd New Jersey Volunteers Regimental Fife and Drums performing era music at the Pine Creek Railroad Depot • Fenian Brotherhood skirmish and Fenian circle meeting • Civil War Encampment and Skirmish • General Grant and his staff • A military officers headquarters scenario • A NJ Civil War Heritage area complete with Civil War book authors’ signing their latest publications • Civil War Road show - appraisals of Civil War & military items for the public • A United States Colored Troop display • Walk through of Infantry & Artillery training camps • Artillery and Calvary units

Since 2010, New Jersey Civil War Heritage Assn sponsored a Civil War School of the Soldier at Allaire Village in Wall, NJ not only as an instructional drill for Civil War re-enactors but also to educate the public about New Jersey in the Civil War. Since Covid 19 Pandemic these events have been postponed indefinitely.
